Welcome to Bitcoin Tools

Bitcoin Tools is a self-custodial and local-first suite of tools to manage your UTXOs, rare sats, runes and inscriptions safely β€” without ever handing your keys to a third party.

Where to start?

  • Concept and philosophy β€” understand how the platform works (local-first, BYOK, demo mode).
  • Prerequisites β€” wallet, access, Ordiscan API key.
  • Tools catalog β€” detailed page for every tool.
  • Glossary β€” UTXO, PSBT, rare sat, rune, BRC-20, RBF, padding…
Demo mode
You can explore every tool without a wallet by enabling demo mode from the header. No signature or transaction can be broadcast in demo β€” this is guaranteed by design in the code.

Quick start in 5 steps

  1. Install the Xverse extension (currently the only supported wallet).
  2. Sign in via Discord (sensitive tools require an authorized role).
  3. Create a free Ordiscan key (1,000 requests/month) and paste it into Settings β†’ API Keys.
  4. Connect your wallet and open the Wallet Dashboard.
  5. Follow the Dashboard suggestions or jump straight into a tool.

Key guarantees

  • Self-custody: your private keys never leave your wallet. Bitcoin Tools stores no seed and no private key.
  • Local-first: scans, enrichments, selections, preferences and your detailed transaction history are persisted on your device (IndexedDB and localStorage). Fetching that data still sends addresses, outpoints and transaction IDs to the required providers and proxies.
  • Minimal server: it mainly acts as an authenticated proxy for external APIs (Ordiscan, mempool.space) and stores some anonymized usage analytics.
  • You approve every signature: Bitcoin Tools builds an unsigned PSBT and Xverse asks for your explicit approval. Bitcoin Tools cannot create a spendable transaction without that approval; once signed, your browser broadcasts the finalized transaction directly to mempool.space (Blockstream.info as fallback).

Warning

Bitcoin transactions are irreversible. Always read the summary carefully before signing. See the Disclaimer for the full breakdown of responsibilities.
