Inscription Padding Recovery

Recover the surplus sats (padding) around an inscription by splitting the UTXO into two outputs: kept (inscription + 330 sats) and recovered (the surplus).

What this tool does

Many historical inscriptions live in over-sized UTXOs (10,000+ sats where 330 would suffice). Padding Recovery detaches the surplus sats without touching the inscribed content.

The source UTXO is split FIFO into kept (inscription) + recovered (surplus).

When to use it

Historical inscriptions on UTXOs > 1,000 sats.
Before a sale: present the inscription in a clean UTXO.
To recover BTC unnecessarily locked.

Prerequisites

Wallet + Discord + Ordiscan.
Payment UTXOs available if fees are paid from payment (default).

Step-by-step

The tool lists inscription UTXOs with recoverable padding.
Advanced settings: padding kept (≥ 330 sats), fee source (payment / padding).
Select the UTXOs to process (batching possible).
Validation then preview.
Sign and broadcast.

Edge cases

UTXOs with runes or Alkanes: excluded (burn risk).
BRC-20 transferable locked: excluded.
Recovered amount below 546 sats: automatic top-up from payment (target 600 sats) to respect the dust limit.
Inscription on the payment address: also eligible, via the payment risk scan.

Safeguards

Kept padding locked to ≥ 330 sats.
FIFO 1:1 on inscriptions.
Automatic anti-dust top-up.
