Getting started

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have each of the items below.

1. Xverse wallet

Xverse is currently the only officially supported wallet. It provides an ordinals address (Taproot, P2TR) and a payment address: Bitcoin Tools works with a Native SegWit payment address, or with a supported Nested SegWit payment form when it is positively validated by the wallet and the app (not every P2SH address qualifies). Xverse also supports single signing and batch signing (required for the Splitter and the Runes Minter).

  • Download the extension from xverse.app (always double-check the URL).
  • Create your wallet and back up your seed phrase offline.
  • Enable the Bitcoin Mainnet network. The tools will reject any testnet connection.
Other wallet support
Only Xverse is supported today. Support for additional wallets (Unisat, OKX, Leather, etc.) is not planned at the moment.

2. Discord access

The signing tools (Mover, Consolidator, Padding Recovery, Rescuer, Splitter, Runes Mover, Runes Minter, Inscriber, Speed Up) are reserved for members holding an authorized Discord role.

  1. Join the Discord server linked from the sign-in page.
  2. Earn the required role (procedure explained inside the server).
  3. Click Connect with Discord. Bitcoin Tools verifies live that your Discord ID holds the role.

Without an authorized role, only Bitcoin Overview and the documentation remain accessible. Every other tool page — including the Wallet Dashboard, the PSBT Inspector and the transaction history — requires the role.

3. Ordiscan API key (free)

Ordiscan provides ordinals data (sat-ranges, inscriptions, runes, BRC-20). Each user brings their own key to prevent abuse and guarantee a dedicated quota.

  1. Create an account on ordiscan.com.
  2. Grab your API key from the Ordiscan dashboard (1,000 free req/month).
  3. Open Settings → API Keys and paste your key. It is validated live, then encrypted with AES-256-GCM on the server.
  4. You can store up to 5 keys; rotation is automatic when one is exhausted.
If you run out of quota
Tools display a banner and a Retry unknown button to re-enrich only the still-unresolved UTXOs. You can also add another key or wait for the 1st of the month (reset).

4. Bitcoin funds

  • To sign a transaction: keep a few thousand sats on your Xverse payment address to cover network fees (typically 1,000–10,000 sats depending on the fee rate).
  • For the Splitter: plan for more — the chain consumes fees at every step (up to 25 txs per batch).
  • Separation strongly recommended: never keep your inscriptions or rare sats on the payment address, and vice versa. The tools detect and fix such mixes, but it's better to avoid them from the start.

5. Compatible browser

Bitcoin Tools requires a modern browser supporting IndexedDB and BroadcastChannel (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave, Safari ≥ 15). Private browsing works, but the local cache is wiped when you close the tab — scans will have to be redone.
